The Gulf Beaches Museum is a local history museum in St. Pete Beach, Florida. The site is best noted for its recounting the history of the Pinellas Barrier Islands and the historic Pass-a-Grille community.
The Gulf Beaches Museum was established in 1993. The museum is housed in the first church to be built in the Pinellas County barrier islands in 1917. It was used as a worship place until 1959 when it was sold to Joan Haley who used it as a residence until she gave it to the county in 1989. It exhibits and extensive collection of historic items and memorabilia, chronicling the colorful past and heritage of the area.
Formally known as the Gulf Beaches Historical Museum, the Gulf Beaches Museum can be quite hard to spot and easy to miss due to its tucked away location. Take note of this so you can be sure to peel your eyes for it on your visit.
