Also known as the Brickell Point, the Miami River Circle, or the Miami Circle at Brickell Point Site, the Miami Circle is actually a prehistoric site where a permanent structure could have once stood. It is an archeological site, featuring a perfect circle composed of 24 holes, surrounded by other minor holes that have cut through the limestone bedrock.
The site was only discovered in 1998, when an old apartment complex was torn down to build a luxury condominium building. This is why some experts are actually doubtful of its authenticity. However, some say that it could have been where a Tequesta Indian structure stood around 1700 to 2000 years ago.
Today, further development and preservation of the Miami Circle is on the way.
