The Samuel P. Harn Museum of Art is an art museum in Gainesville, Florida. It is located inside and as a part of the city?s campus of the University of Florida.
Opened in 1990, the Samuel P. Harn Museum of Art was named after Samuel Peebles Harn. It was done in his memory after his widow, three daughters, and sons-in-law made the founding donation for the museum. It features more than 6200 works as a part of its permanent collection and a wide variety of temporary exhibitions. Most of the displays in the permanent collections are of Asian, African, contemporary and modern art. Some pieces are of photography.
Aside from the displays, the Samuel P. Harn Museum of Art is also a venue for lectures and other educational programs and events.
