Also known as the Zorayda Castle, the Villa Zorayda is a historic home which most peculiar features mimic those of the Moorish Alhambra Palace in Spain. It was the summer home of Franklin W. Smith, a known eccentric millionare.

Built as an experiment in poured concrete construction, the Villa does not only have the outside look of the Alhambra palace, but also the unique interior detailing found on the inside of the palace as well. It?s groundbreaking architecture started a boom of Moorish Spanish design in the city and a lot of these buildings can still be seen now.

Until recently, the Villa has been closed for renovation, mostly repairing damage due to neglect and weather changes. Now it is open as a museum and tours are welcome.
