I live there for all to short of a time. I liked the area very much & the people there were very nice. There was quite a lot to see and do for a smaller city.
Going back for the first time in 10 years next weekend for Bama homecoming. I can't wait to set foot in T-town. Nothing but good memories of my 5 years there.
This is a great area that is centrally located to about everything......You can get to Chattanooga , Birmingham, Gulf Shores, Atlanta, New Orleans, and many others within 5-6 hours.
If there are any Bama fans out there homecoming is TODAY.....Parade at noon and fun stuff on the Quad all day. Then the game is at 8:00..Roll Tide
If you have never seen what it is like when there is a home game in Tuscaloosa it is extremely hard to explain. I have never in my life seen anything like it. It pretty much defies discription. It's sort of like a party from one end of town to the other.
Spent some of the best years of my life in Tuscaloosa. I hadn't been back in 10 years, and I attended homecoming this year. Tuscaloosa was the same in a lot of ways but very different too.
