You definitely don't get paid to live in AK, as some people suggest. The PFD is nice, and living here all my life, I tend to take it for granted, but it doesn't really change how expensive it is to live here.

I'd say don't move ot Alaska just because you'll get a PFD every year. This state isn't for the faint of heart. You're going to living in a remote area even if you're in Anchorage. You'll spend most of your time on the internet buying the things that are carried in this state, while at the same time chasing bears out of your trash.
I love it here and can't see living anywhere else. But this state isn't for everyone.

its not really all its cracked up to be. Its really just a bonus, maybe an average of $1000. But thinkg of all the other costs assosiated with liveing up here

Oh yea. Great bonus. How do they feel they can take from us all the time? I'm temped not to collect just to keep money from that ( I dare not say it) president of ours.

I am wido of four am I want to raise my childern in a great environment I was born there in 77 I want to be buried there when I do die of old age I want to go home but I very limit on,funds what can I do

Well they pay people to live there but you may end up spending more money for groceries and other stuff there... Cost of living is very high there but it is a beautiful city
