Moving to Alaska-THROUGH Canada

So as far as guns and ammo... Does anyone know what can and can't be transported through canada?

So far, it seems that you can transport SOME firearms but you have to purchase some sort of permit.

I am thinking about just shipping the guns (or a couple of them) to an FFL but what about ammo??
