If You're From the East, You Haven't Seen Petroglyphs (probably)

When you are visiting Albuquerque, take some time and visit the Petroglyphs Monument. It's on the West Side, adjacent to Unser Blvd. Open all year, if the weather is decent you can hike for 15 minutes or 3 hours and see some wonderful examples of earliest American art.

We took our Cub Scouts to the petroglyphs a few years ago and the park ranger told me a new piece of trivia. You know those 5 volcanoes west of town? There are actually 6. One of them was completely flattened by being used as railroad road bed throughout the state.
