Divers search Lake Havasu for missing man

LAKE HAVASU CITY - Divers from the Mohave County Sheriff's Office are searching Lake Havasu for a missing 76-year-old man. Deputies were patrolling the South Basin waterway Tuesday when they were flagged down by a woman. She told them her husband had jumped into the western Arizona lake and never surfaced.

Deputies conducted an immediate search of the waterways. Deputies from San Bernadino County, Calif., and the Lake Havasu City Police Department are assisting in the search.

Divers recover man's body in Lake Havasu

LAKE HAVASU CITY - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies recovered the body of a man reported missing earlier this week in Lake Havasu.

The body of 75-year-old John Albert Burgeson of Victorville, Calif., was found Friday morning in the South Basin area.

Burgeson was reported missing Tuesday afternoon about 300 yards off the beach when he jumped into the water to retrieve a piece of clothing.

The investigation remains active pending autopsy results.

It really makes me wonder wtf people are thinking when they do stupid stuff like that.
