It's not around anymore. A few years back it was pushed to weekend and "Miguzi" or whatever it was called took over with crap. Then toonami disappeared all together. But the Sci-fi channel brought back anime on monday nights. Thats where I started watching it when I was 10. Now I just torrent/stream everything.

Totally. Adult Swim on Cartoon Network has anime on ummm... Saturday nights I believe after King of the Hill. Used to be on every night. Ahhh... those were the days. Sit up late, watch some anime, and chat on Yahoo IM.
Yeah, but most of them are revived within the next 5 episodes so it doesn't really count. I loved DBZ, too. It was bad ass, but compared with Witch Hunter Robin, Blood+, Outlaw Star, etc... it didn't make the list of "serious" anime.
You are right in that it wasn't as dark as the majority of anime coming out of Japan at the time.

On that note, I miss toonami... with Moltar.
I was 17. Not sure what that says about me, but whatever.
Moltar was awesome. Tom was ok his ship was neat.
Nickelodeon is re-releasing DBZ kai. For any interested. They use the American crew, so I think it got dubbed a few years back and was waiting for a network to pick it up. I think it also got edited for a more "American" audience, in that there is now 15% less screaming per episode.
I think I moved on to a different anime after DBGT, still a guud anime tho
They just released it, I had to sell my collection when I moved into my wifes place. Funny enough when I went to do it, there was a guy there with his girl doing the same thing. She gave me a disapproving look, he and I made eye contact and at that point I realized I was not alone in the world. There are other people, and they to had to sell their anime in order to keep a lady around. Now it doesn't seem worth it. Kidding, love you Sweetheart!
