Cave of Forgotten Dreams (2010) - IMDb
This is an amazing movie. Exploring the Chauvet caves of Southern France this movie does the most in depth exploration of that system of anything I've ever seen.
Home to the oldest cave paintings in the world, it is a statement to personal development as people and a connection to the intangible we all still hold in our hearts.
Seeing the paintings, knowing the meaning, allowing a window of 30,000 years to be bridged with a single image, this movie connects us to our heritage in a universal way that few have done before or since.
Narrated by Werner Herzog who's soothing voice lends well to the tranquility of the cave, this movie is one you have to watch, if only to stand in splendor of our accomplishment and realize the differences between our cultures are minimal compared to the similarities. Even in perspective of 30,000 years.
It's a five out of five. See this movie.
