Tattoo Shops - Austin, Texas

Who do you use to get work done? I've tried a few places around town, Diablo Rojo, and atomic are my favorite.

Any one have any preferences?

Alot of my friends go to platinum ink... theyve been around a while

Well, there was the one that was near the highway on 6th street that I stumbled in drunk and got inked. Then there was the other one further up 6th street "River city" I think, that I had add more to it and color it.

So, not much help from me

Lots of REALLY good artists here in Austin.

Agreed, did you have to go up stairs, how long ago?

i can't remember the name of the place but its about 2/3 the way down 6th street towards the highway and a big guy named animal with flame tats all over his head did a great job on my wife and i both when we lived in austin

The majority of the pieces I have are old school, with some tribl mixed in from my youth.

Hve you had work done my him?

I forget his last name, a couple of years back there was a guy named Jason at Atomic south that did a really awesome job. After five years all the colors hold.

It took him 2 hours to do a 45 minutes tatt. He started getting frustrated (My skin will not readily accept ink, they really have to work it in, and I break at least one or two needles per session.), but he held out and it's by far my most well done.

As for a shop I would point you to Dovetail Tattoo. Wendi Rameriez did my right arm tattoo and I was very pleased with the finished product.

Another option is Jeff Ensminger, he is really hard to get an appointment with, but it is well worth the trouble. He is traveling alot but always swings through Austin. He is hands down one of the best color tattooers in the country.
