Just so your know nobody drinks fosters in Australia!
My favourites are: Coopers Sparkling ale - South Australia, Little Creatures Pale Ale - Western Australia, James Boags Premium Lager - Tasmania.

I second what hando has said. We have megalagers like most countries, made from, well not much! Megabreweries exist in most states - Fourex (XXXX) - Queensland, Tooheys - New South Wales. Victoria Bitter (VB), Crown Lager, Carlton Draught and Reschs - Victoria, Boags and Cascade - Tasmania, West End and Southwark - South Australia, Emu and Swan - Western Australia. Coopers from South Australia are probably the largest brewery making Ales which are pretty good. Like hando says there are now some great micro's dotted around the country, making some fantastic beers. Stone and Wood brewing from Byron Bay and Murrays would be my favourites.
Cheers and Beers,
