Australian language and slang

We all know you folks from down under have some unique words, sayings and turns of phrase.

Let's hear some of them so we all know what you're all talking about if we ever visit your continent.

Check out this site!
Australian slang dictionary
My favourites are:
Flat out like a lizard drinking.
Arvo
Goonbag - Which is a cask of wine. We joke about it being all you need for a party, when you're finished the wine you can use the bag inside as a pillow.

G'Day Mate--works for both a greeting and departure.

There's also Kiwi slang which is New Zealand and for some inexplicable reasons, Kiwis and Aussies don see eye to eye on much of anything, so go figure.

My mother was from Brisbane, Queensland (she was a WWII war bride) When I was growing up she would say things that would make me say... HUH? then she would realize she was using her Australian slang. As I grew up I got use to it and understood most of it.
Like: Get the groceries out of the boot. (Trunk of the car) I really miss hearing her talk. She has been gone since 1973. And although she used the word Bloody as a cuss word, us kids would get a good lecture if we used it.

Are you from Oz? Alo Cobber is very old school, more recentlu Alo Mate, now it's pretty much G'day for all occasions.
