Are you bus-hunting? There are several around Dallas. Splits (1967 and older) as well as Bays (1968 and newer)
I used to build some of the T1 engines that can be fitted in most of them. My favorite combo is a 78 full circle crank, 90.5 stroker pistons, Webcam 86 with 1.25 rockers, 1.5" exhaust, dual baby dells or Kadrons and away you go!
Heck, there are guys that adapt the 1.9 TDI to work in the ole busses! fun city!

Hitch
I'm thinking about doing that to this 75 I have. I have offered it to my friend in Houston but if he doesn't make a move on it, I'm going to restore and customise it. It's located outside of Lampasas TX where my parents live.
The company I work for had a bunch of them a work vehicals, never drove them because they all broke down and they went with Vanagons and Ford work vans. They still have a pink split window (I think it's a split window) and a vanagon camper.

How long ago was this? I couldn't see any company relying on a fleet of old VW!
I could see a company using them as advertisement, like some do with the H2.
