When I was 14-15 and did a little hitch-hiking in California, I swear 9 out of 10 times we got picked up it was hippies in a VW van. Great fun times. I remember that most of them had 2nd or 3rd gear out and couldn't go very fast.

For a while I had a squareback, '72, and yellow that was my commute beater.
Got to be careful about fuel lines getting brittle from the engine heat and cracking.

Yea, that's still a stigma. Although most "hippies" now couldn't keep one running. So now if you see one it's more than likely going to be strait lace downer driving one......like me.

Yep they're still just like that.

Oh yeah. You have to change those fuel lines if you want to keep you ride for sure.

VW Vanagon weekender Wolfsburg Edition

It is nice, but not practical for the roads here in the Ozarks. So we are trying to sell it.

That looks pretty nice. I like the weekenders. Have you tried selling it on TheSamba.com :: Volkswagen Classifieds, photos, shows, forums, and information ?

Crazymtnlady. I love your screen name.

I have owned 3 Eurovans and loved them. My x boyfriend and I use to buy them, fix them up and sell them. TheSamba is definitely a good place to post. I found lots of them and sold all 3 on Craigslist though.
