Hey to anyone who's done a swap like this - how'd the crankshaft position sensor cross over? Any problems? I can't get it to start yet, and that's the next problem I'll be tackling.

Alright, so solved that, and then solved the oil pressure sensor crossover issue. Now, getting no air, fuel, or spark - whoo hoo! Anyone got any suggestions? I've got a few specific questions.

- I'm using the new motor's distributor right now - should I try the old motor's? Would that even make a difference?

- I'm using my 91's ecu, because I just assumed they'd be the same. Anyone know if I'd need the TJ's ecu for this?

I believe using the old ECU is the culprit. It just doesn't have the ability to control all of the sensors from the new motor.

(BTW, I looked for you last week near the Aloha Tower while sipping on a few beers, but you were AWOL again!)

Yeah, ugh that's what I'm most scared of - I don't feel like spending $100-$150 on a CPU.

Hah sorry about that - my lazy butt was probably down at Bellow's!

Update on today and yesterday.

- Swapped in 91's distributor - definitely going to need to re-set the timing when I get to that point.

- After that didn't work, we had to do some more trouble-shooting. Got around to spinning the crankshaft, and it wouldn't turn by hand. We swapped the motor in with the old oil still in and THEN changed it once in, so we thought maybe the old oil had seized it somehow.

- Roll-started it to try and get it to start, or at least to un-freeze the crank-shaft, if there was some sediment left on there. It engaged and kept rolling, and kind of retardedly tried to turn over, but didn't fire up. Once it stopped, check the fuel line and fuel came out, so fuel at least tried to get in. However, even after roll-starting it 3 times, the crankshaft won't turn by hand.

So I'm at a loss again, with just more trouble-shooting to be done in the future. I've got a guy that used to work for Chrysler who offered to come over and help next weekend, but I really wanted to figure it out on my own.

Anyone else have any other suggestions?

Replaced the crank position sensor and starter today, and still no nothin. The guy from Chrysler came over yesterday and that's what he recommended. Needless to say, his butt is back on his way over right now

Yeahhhhh, still haven't found it. Starter will fire up the engine if you jump it directly, but my battery, even if jumping it, won't turn the motor over. Interesting. Anyhow, here's pictures.

I'm hopelessly unmechanical, and I'm don't know if your 91 even has one but could it have something to do with the clutch interlock safety switch?
