I knew this was coming - replacing rear leaves on my XJ

So my 3-month old AAL is already showing sag - I knew it when I bought it, but it was the only kit on the island and I didn't feel like waiting a month for another one. So here I am - in late January I'm going to pony up and buy some rear packs. I'm pretty limited to what 4wheelparts offers, because most other brands (IRO, Rusty's, etc.) either don't ship to the islands, or a pair of their leaf packs out here is around $300-$350 for shipping alone.

So here we go. Vote for what you will. If other, please explain. And let's keep it realistic. Yes, technically I could get Deaver leaf packs and pay $700 per pack, but come on now.

Also, I'm at 4" now (well, rear's at about 3" because of droop), but I'm thinking of stepping it up to 5", since I'm buying the new packs anyways... but that's a different thread!

Go!

You could always try to find a spring/steel fabricator on the island...It might take some research but you never know what you could find. Just bring in your old springs and the y might be able to recreate them for a pretty decent price.

guys on NAXJA who have them LOVE the Big Off Road springs. When I finally get around to changing from my Rough Country springs that's probably what I will go with.

I'm looking into BOR. Do you know if those are sold in pairs or if they're really $400 and some change each?

I'm also looking at a pair of SkyJackers - anyone ever used those?

I've got 1.5" shackles on there now. I'm playing with the idea of if I should keep those and go with 2.5" leaf packs, or go the full 4" packs, and keep the shackles for later when I want to go bigger!

I'm in contact with the BOR guy. He's checking to see if they even ship out to Hawaii. I'm all for trying smaller shops - seems they always make better stuff, and have much better customer service than the big guys.

Ugh, around 350 for shipping alone out to Hawaii. I'd love to try them, but that's just kinda crazy. Looks like, for now, I'm stuck with 4wheel parts selection
