Big Bear 4x4 trails?

I recently got a jeep and am looking for some killer 4x4 trails. Does anyone have a website or book to reference.

There is a jeep trail in Arrowhead. You should be able to find it on Google Maps

EDIT: this should help

So many trails there, you can even go from the desert floor at Johnson Valley all the way to Big Bear on the dirt.

I have the nor-cal book, seems written well enough for the one trip I've been able to squeeze in since getting my jeep this summer.

Guide to Northern California Backroads and 4-Wheel Drive Trails, Charles A. Wells, (9780966497656) Paperback - Barnes & Noble

Guide to Southern California Backroads and 4-Wheel Drive Trails, Charles A. Wells, (9780966497649) Paperback - Barnes & Noble

Just be safe about whatever you're gonna try with your new jeep. Try to find some other jeepers to go wheeling with, get some recover equipment and know how to use it, pack some first aid and survival gear, etc. In other words be prepared and don't try something stupid like solo-ing a difficult trail out in the boonies on a Tuesday. Enjoy your new jeep!

Try this:

4x4 Off Road Tire Test Articles, Videos, Mud Terrain, All Terrain, Tire Pressures, Airing Down, Tire Care and Tools, Wheels

This is recently updated information. The new maps where handed out at a run in October.

You can always stop by the visitor's center that is on the "north" side of the lake. The rangers have maps available and can give you info on the trails.

The best bet is for you to get in touch with a local jeep club, they will know of all the trails in your area. Plus get on some jeep forums Wranglerforum.com, myjeeprocks.com, jeepforum.com etc. You can find people there that you can hook up with for trails a bit farther out from you. Here in SoCal we have hundreds of places to enjoy.
