Bodie ghost town

Made a side trip there a few weeks ago. Pretty cool abandoned mining town just north of Mono Lake.

I was just talking to my cousin the other night about making a trip up there soon. It's a really neet place and I haven't been there since I was a kid.

Paved until the last 4-5 miles. Any vehicle can make it.

On a side note. If you are in the area make sure to eat at the Whoa Nellie Deli in Lee Vining. The guy that runs it is a gourmet chef; not something you would expect up there and at that location

Tioga Gas Mart and Whoa Nellie Deli

Might be of interest that most all of the supplies going in and the ore going out was shipped/frieghted by wagon trains over the Sonora Pass. Most supplies came via Stockton. If anyone has been over Sonora pass, it's hard to imagine a horse and wagon getting over those mtns., but that is indeed how they did it back then.
I wonder if the wagons each had four horses... that would be four wheel drive, right?
