Visiting Cali this coming November. Things to do?

I'll be in San Fran on 11/4, then LA, and finally San Diego. What are some places to go, beside the touristy stuff? Bars? Surfing spots and rentals? Foods??

If you want to see any nature, get down to the Pacific Grove area and check out the hike in the Point Lobos Park. It is a great hike with lots of scenery and wildlife. Monterrey Bay Aquarium is close, too.

Check out DDD for food spots. He has been there many times. He also has a couple of eating joints himself. Make it to Yosemite if possible. Falls should be going again by then.

Once you get to your destination, stop by a local Costco. They often have special theme park passes at a great discount.

Another vote for making the trip to Yosemite. You won't regret it.

Wild Animal Park is pretty great, too. And the Gas Light area downtown used to have some great clubs and bars. Are they still there?

If you have never been to the giant redwoods you should make that a stop for sure. I know you said no touristy stuff but that area is a natural wonder that I think everyone should see once at least.
