Well I'm glad others feel my pain somewhat. I feel bad in case I'm coming across as a beer snob...I'm not trying to bash people's preferences and god knows I've drank a lot of Blue and Coors Light in my day, but like I alluded to above, I'm trying to expand my horizons and I'm stymied by the gov't. I don't complain about taxes, I don't complain about the health care system, but the moment the gov't screws with my beer drinking, I snap, lose it.
Anyways, I'm going to change very little ranting about it on this forum. As a final point though, I worked in northern British Columbia for two summers (good ol' Fort St. John) and they had some awesome beers that were readily available in any store that sold liquor...but of course, they didn't have a gov't board that monopolized sales either.
To take this in a bit of a different direction, can people recommend any "must visit" pubs/bars in this country? I'd also be interested in hearing about breweries to visit...
