Not sure about Provincial divisions, but maybe geological and some cultural ones should be considered. French vs English makes sense since many French speakers are not comfortable in English. Members from mountainous areas such as BC and Alberta have completely different vehicle needs than those in say Ontario. The far north is like a completely different world.
Canada is 3,851,877 sq. miles and the US is 3,717,879 sq. miles!
Hey I've been looking and looking but cannot find a thread for B.C., is it true that city profile wants to lump the best province in with all the rest? Isn't that why God created the Rocky Mountains.....
As I am not a Canadian and don't understand the culture/geography it would be great if someone started a poll on how best to divide Canada at this time.
I would hate to divide by Province only for that not to well received.

Since you guys don't want to create a lot of forums with minimal participation, I think ngomarty had the beginnings of a great and workable concept.

Start by splitting the country into the major cultural/geographic regions. This is something that could and should be done now.
When the interest and content from a particular province within a region is high enough to warrant it, spin off a subforum in that region for that province.
Then as the interest and content from a particular city or area within a province grows, start spinning off subforums within that province for those cities or areas.
That way regions that don't get a lot of traffic stay regions but still have their own forum that doesn't look totally dead, and the more active areas get increasingly more area and activity specific forums based on interest and traffic.
Once upon a time in the Kingdom of Heaven, God was missing for six
days. Eventually, Michael the Archangel found Him, resting on the
seventh day. He inquired of God, "Where have You been?"
God sighed a deep sigh of satisfaction and proudly pointed
downwards through the clouds, "Look Michael, look what I've made!"
Archangel Michael looked puzzled and asked, "What is it?"
"It's a planet," replied God, and I've put life on it.
I'm going to call it Earth, and it's going to be a place of great balance.
"Balance?" inquired Michael, still confused.
God explained, pointing to different parts of Earth, "For example,
Northern Europe will be a place of great opportunity and wealth, while
southern Europe is going to be poor; the Middle East over there will be a
hotspot.
And over there I've placed a continent of white people, while over
here is a continent of black people," God continued, pointing to
different countries. "This one will be extremely hot and arid
while this one will be very cold and covered in ice."
The Archangel , impressed by God's work, then pointed to a large
land mass and said, "What's that one?"
"Ah," said God. "That's Manitoba , the most glorious place on
earth. There are beautiful lakes, rivers, skies, sunsets and rolling hills. The
people from Manitoba are going to be modest, intelligent and humorous,
and they are going to be found traveling the world.
They will be extremely sociable, hardworking and high achieving,
and they will be known throughout the world as diplomats and carriers of
peace."
Michael gasped in wonder and admiration but then proclaimed,
"What about balance, God? You said there would be balance!"
God replied wisely, "Wait until you see the dingbats I'm putting
around them in Alberta , Saskatchewan & Ontario & Quebec ..
