Done! Would appreciate everyone passing the word on and starting some relevant threads to kick start this new subforum. Thanks for giving me input as to what makes sense for your area.

Lived, worked and had both my daughters born in SLO. Best time of my life was spent there. I sure do miss it.

I'm planning on another road trip soon, and would like to find small town activities to check out. Could I get some information on any local flavors?

Being retired, the time of my visit is flexible. I'd just like to plan a nice route, with plenty of local sites to see, as I cruise up the coast. I know Gilroy has the Garlic Festival in late July, which would be fun to attend, but it sure is hot around then.

I've lived in 20 different places, from Minnesota to Denver to San Francisco, and I'm proud to be a Central Coaster for the past 12 years. I vote yes!

There is no place like the Central Coast of Cali, I have lived in the midwest for half of my life and then moved here and I dont take one day for granted, it is so beautiful and there is so much to do if you just step out the door and be a little adventurous. Amazing place to live, you can surf and snowboard in the same day!!

Driving route 1 from morro bay to monterey is awesome

pismo beach if you're into off roading in the dunes

depending on the time of year there are all kinds of "festivals" held in the various cities along the central coast
