New Year's Eve Package Recommendations

The wife and I are considering a night away from the kids and are looking for a nice package deal, in the city is cool but we do live out in the west suburbs. Not looking to break the bank but would need a hotel room and nice party spot or something. Good beer is a requirement.

Does it have to be a package and what do you mean by "party spot"?

You could put together your own night of dinner/beer at the Hopleaf followed by the Neo-Futurists' New Year's show and stay at the House 5863, brunch at Ann Sather's in the morning.

Or, if you want a package with a more dressed up/less good beer go to metromix and do a search.

Yesterday's TimeOut Chicago had an ad for Rock Bottom's New Year's event. Lots of hotels around there.
