Places to Volunteer

Thanksgiving is coming, I want to donate some of my time, not sure where to do it. Any suggestions? I found the City Of Chicago site, by what they say, everyone needs help, I believe it, I just want to go were I'm needed most.

Depending on where you are, the local Volunteer Fire Department is a good start. If you're in a city with a municipal department, try seeing if they have a support agency such as the Moline Second Alarmers, or the Boston Sparks Association. Many of these agencies provide relief to Firefighters when they really need it... Holidays, and at fire scenes where they run canteens, lighting and so on.
