I'm not enlisted but I have quite a few friends stationed in the Springs area. What a wonderful location to be.

Thank you for your service! God bless you and keep you safe.

Well, that's a story...here's the short version.

Air Force enlisted, starting in 1973. Went to basic/tech school in Texas (San Antonio and Wichita Falls), followed by Dover, Delaware; Okinawa, Japan; Honolulu, Hawaii; Altus, Oklahoma; Lompoc/Santa Maria, California; and Colorado Springs, Colorado. The transition from OK to CA had a trip back to San Antonio, where I went through Officer Training School. I was a Master Sergeant (E-7) by then, but I went to OTS and came out a 2LT. Spent 19 years, 8 months, and 24 days...then, I separated under the VSI program. I know it sounds weird, but there were good reasons for the decision.

I've been out since September 1992, spent some time loafing, sold cars, and finally took a job as a defense contractor. Been doing that for the last 17 1/2 years.

Air Force

I recently separated from the Air Force, but know of several military and retirees in the area.

My Aunt for one teaches at the Academy and is retired

Actually i think my wife knows more military spouses out of Peterson, then i do AD guys lol.

Wonderful area up there, my parents are still there. My hope while i was in was to get located here or out at Hill AFB in Utah.

Oh well...
