Target shooting

I'm in Thornton.
Avid target shooter. New private indoor range at I25 and highway 119, TriggerTime Gun Club. Great place.
Looking for outdoor areas. Used to shoot at area just past Lyons, just shut down. Too many resident complaints. Just like the airports.
Anyone have suggestions?

Thanks
Lariatbob

Trigger Time is membeship only. Find info at Triggertimegunclub.com
IMO reasonable fees for what they offer. Nice place. Nice people. Good deals on purchases.
25 yard pistol, 100 yard rifle indoor ranges.

Yeah, the shooting range in Erie turned into the Vista Ridge development. There was another range shut down in the Pike too.

It is true, the national forest is open unless marked closed. Areas get closed because of the proximity to population and because of the trash and destruction that some people leave behind that give us all a bad name. Rampart, Lefthand, Lyons - all closed because of a small few with small minds. There are a actual few ranges on public land, one just west of Grand Lake.

Our favorite range in Summit County is at the dump. Its north of Rt 6 heading east to Keystone; get off on the Landfill Rd; go past the dump and electrical substation to get there. There's a law enforcement section (fenced off), pistol/rimfire, centerfire, and lastly a clay throwing area. It doesn't get too busy and everyone is pretty laid back, even the local police.
