Went to Kent falls this summer and it was really nice. Mostly head into NY around New Paltz though when we want to Rock Scramble...

im a big fan of the talcott mountain trail in simsbury/Avon, i used to go as a kid now i take my 4 year old nephew and he loves it.

Ya, Devils Hop Yard a great place. Fishing, Hiking, Biking... I even launched my hang glider from the top of the notch.

I have not read the entire thread but I offer this recommendation: check out the CT Forest and Park Association's two volume Blue Trail guide:
Connecticut Walk Book | Connecticut Forest & Park Association
The Connecticut Walk Books, in two volumes covers the state's Blue Trails East and West of the CT River. It's a great resource and available for purchase (pricey, I own one...) or you can [I]borrow it from your local library![I]
