Roseland is good, quick and easy in Shelton would be Artans.
Also ate at Amiccis in Shelton, very nice Italian. Roma's Pizza is also good in Ansonia.
Pelicis in Stamford is good too.
Come to Fairfield, I own a business here and can now say we are in the midst of new hot spots. Pepe's as mentioned, Colony, Mike's, Pizza Med, Tomato & Basil, Malto etc, check it out.
Lots of good pizza joints here but Pepe's is my favorite. I just love thin crust pizza. The Pepe's in Manchester isn't quite as good as the Wooster St. location which, I'd imagine, is due to the oven not being seasoned to the extent of the originals. It's still an above average pizza.
Roseland's in Derby is excellent but expensive, especially if you get into their specialty pizzas! Vito's in Wethersfield/Newington/Hartford makes a very good, thicker-crust pie. First and Last Tavern in Hartford would be my second favorite. For a chain, Bertucci's has some real nice pies, although on the more expensive side.
I have been a couple times, most recently a couple years ago. It actually was pretty decent both times we went. I thought it would be a mediocre, mass-produced, tourist-trappy pizza but it was about a notch above average. It has gotten a lot of mixed reviews so it must really be hit or miss with whoever is working in the kitchen and serving. A lot could have changed in a couple years, though.
Modern APizza gets my vote for CT pizza. I live 2 miles from Roseland and don't care much for it, overpriced and it feels dirty in there.
That is my $.02

Monaco's Pizza in Winsted has the most incredible Pizza. Fresh toppings, perfect sauce and a great crust. Not NY style but TRUE Italian style. Not to thick, not too thin.
