Please give me one good reason to visit Connecticut

I'd like to suggest that you get a travel guide to CT, select the items you have an interest in and then inquire about those items. Any other method is depentdent on individuals knowing everything about the state.
There is a huge amount of things to do here for such a small state. We have all the colonial history, a seafaring history, there's a carosel horse museum, a submarine museum and every kind of museum in between, there's hunting, fishing, state parks, swimming, hiking, biking, sailing, clubbing, B&B's abounding.
Go to the state's tourism boards and have a look-

There's at least 3 auto race tracks as well. Spend some time online looking.
Don't forget that we are equidistant between Boston and New York about 2 hours to either (+,-) Newport RI is just up the road and the mansions are a wonder to see.
I'd re-think visiting CT and think more about visiting New England as a whole. The states are small and have very reasonable highways (though there is congestion when and where you could expect it) so they are easy to travel through in no time. This isn't like the western states in size so travel time is nil compared to say; New Mexico or Utah. I can have breakfast in the Berkshire Mountains and be swimmning in the ocean that afternoon after driving at a reasonable rate and perhaps taking a side trip to Sturbridge Village or Mystic Village.
So have a look at the websites, inquire at AAA and come back for reviews of attractions you are interested in.

Sure Connecticut is expensive to live but it doesn't mean it isn't fun to visit. I moved here in 2000 from Maine to begin my career. I met my wife here so I am partial. I love the casinos thought. Easy access to NYC and Hartford has a decent cultural scene as well.

Not food or scenery related but, we have UCONN sports. If your not into college sports, how about some roller derby? We go watch womens roller derby down in Woodbridge. Their season just ended and starts back up in March.

I'd say a good reason is to see the tobacco fields. It's actually pretty cool.

Appalachian Trail runs through the northwest corner.

Because that means you don't live there. I spent 20+ years there and I like visiting much better.

There are some amazingly diverse restaurants in New Haven, as well as great nightlife. Personally I love places with a wide selection of beer, so both Prime 16 and Delaney's are definitely worth checking out!

The South Eastern corner is often overlooked as the population is not nearly as dense. It is an amazing area though. Lots of scenic drives, vineyards and restaurants. Although they are not in CT, the RI beaches are just a stones throw away and they are amazing in the summer. The mouth of the Long Island Sound also makes for some extremely interesting fishing if that is something you may enjoy.

I wouldn't really recommend CT as a place to stay. Overall there isn't much happening in this state.

If you like casinos, hit up Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun.

Wine tastings - CT has the "CT wine trail" and you can usually find some unique wines. Tastings run around $6+ or buy a bottle. Overall, the wine quality isn't that great and only a few white wines were actually really good.

Hartford area- just avoid it, spend more time at a beach or checking out southern CT's famous lobster rolls.
