Denver Museums

another hit for the denver museum of nature and science!

I go there about once a year, usually early fall (all the kiddos are in school and its too early in the program for a field trip...).

I will echo what some of the other folks have put up. As a Colorado native I've been to most at one time or another.

Natural History is great and they have a free day once a month if your looking for freebies. King Tut exhibit is great.
The Denver Art Museum is very good as well.
Aquarium is also good.

For a more unique approach to Colorado there are several small museum's and historical places off the beaten path that are lots of fun. Colorado has a rich history from the old gold rush days. Small towns like Leadville, have lots of places and tours dedicated to this. There are some mansions and such around Denver that have been preserved from that period as well.

I used to live in Denver and when I was there I really enjoyed the Denver Museum. Definitely on a class of its own compared to others I've been too.

I would agree that the Denver Art Museum is very good but if you have kids you just can't beat the museum of Nature and Science.

Also the Wild Life Experience South of the Tech Center is great for kids too.

+1 for the Planetarium! The museums are great. And a lot have free days every month!

Denver Museum of Nature and Science, a.k.a., Denver Natural History Museum, bordering City Park. We have been members for 4 years. Great kids programs during the summer as well.
