The Iowa State fair is the 2nd largest in the USA, 2nd only to the Texas fair.

Don't really have a top 5, but here are a few...

- Center Point Orchard (North of DSM) if you have small children or simply looking for a good apple/pumpkin orchard
- Adventureland
- Blank Park Zoo and Living History Farms are OK if you're bored.

If you're in to that sort of thing, the new sculpture park downtown is worth a stop. My wife and I did that a couple of months ago as part of an anniversary stay-cation: we rented a hotel room downtown and did all of the "touristy" things we'd never think to do otherwise.

I'm pretty sure that Minnesota and Texas are both larger.

I think the Pappajohn Sculpture Park is supposed to be one of the largest in the country too.

Here are a few that are always fun with the family:

1-Adventure Land
2- Iowa State Fair
3- National Balloon Classic in Indianola
4- Blank Park Zoo
5- Funny Bone Comedy Club
