That movie takes place at a fictional park based loosely on Kennywood, which is near Pittsburgh. Ours is a very real place. I worked there for a month after tenth grade.

Okay, old post, but do you have a source for that? That might be right in terms of acreage, not sure, but while Texas is definitely the most-attended, Iowa is actually 7th. Number two is Minnesota. I know both Iowa's and Minnesota's very well, and I honestly have to say I like Minnesota's better. They both have that awesome classic state fair vibe, but MN has better food and a better midway, and it seems to take itself a little less seriously, which can be refreshing at such a huge event.
Here's my five in no particular order:
- Adventureland
- Social Club/Civic Center/Stage West/Playhouse/other theatre
- Pappajohn Sculpture Garden
- Gray's Lake
- all kinds of delicious restaurants (we really do have surprisingly good food here)
