Best Eastern NC BBQ is at Parkers. Order Family Style and they keep bringing it until you say quit. Great BBQ and fried chicken. Their coleslaw is out of this world and they have boiled potatoes to beat any I have ever eaten. Don't pass up the cornbread sticks. Great deserts too if you still have room in your expanding gut.
BlueXJ, I'll second that vote. My wife has family up that way and we stop in there when we are up there. Stephensons in Benson is a close 2nd in my book.
