im not from destin but my family has i time shire down there. its one of the nices places i have vised down there.

You can snag CHEAP rates during the winter months ($79/night for a gulf-front condo that runs $350/night during the summer), and there's still plenty to enjoy because our winters are so mild. For the women, all of the shopping is unaffected seasonally, and most of the bars are still operating. We enjoy going out more in the winter months because the night spots aren't shoulder-to-shoulder.

Some nice places to go and if you are into Off-roading, there are some nice leisurely trails and things to see if you get a pass for the Eglin Reservation.
