Panama City, Fl

Just to let anyone who is looking to visit Northwest Fl. know, we have the largest night club in the U.S. here. It has a capacity of 3000 people.
There are several great family attractions tha have opened in the last couple of years such as Wonder Works and Ripley's Believe it or Not. These are only a couple of the great places to visit while here.
Enjoy your stay..

I lived in Panama City back in the late 90s. My dad was stationed at Tyndall. Which club are you talking about? I vaguely remember Spinacker(I think) and Club La Vila?

Angelo's has a superb family atmosphere to enjoy a great meal. Their steaks, ribs and seafood are at the top of the line in this area. The prices aren't that bad considering the atmosphere and customer service being top notch.
They were named Southern Livings favorite place for steak.

No the oil never really reached us here. There were a few tar balls that were spotted on the beach, but as for the oil skim itself is nowhere to be found.

Panama City was lucky with the Oil. Even Destin got a very small amount of Oil. You should visit both. There is lots to do between both towns and they are only about 20-30 minutes apart.

To be totally honest, I never cared for the beach at PCB. I always take the family to Mexico City Beach, east of Tyndall AFB, because the sand is softer and the people are friendlier. Go a little further east in Mexico City and there is access to the beach for pets on the leash.

Deer Point Lake is availible for those fresh water fishermen who come in the area.
Bay County Florida Fishing - Bay County FL Fishing - Deer Point Lake Florida
There are several creeks/bayous that run off of the lake that also have some great fishing aswell.
My 9yr old daughter caught a 12" bream, in Bayou George that runs off of the lake, back in the spring of this year. She was using a Rapala 2" broke back minnow. Bumping it across the top of calm water along the grass edge at the mouth of a small slew.
