Camping food

Looking for some new ideas for easy and large camping meals. things I can cook at home, warm up on a deep woods camping trip. I prefer the foil in coals method with meats/potatoes but want to try something different this fall.

foil in coals is my favorite. corn on the cob is a must when i go camping made that way.

we once made a rotisserie and cooked a whole chicken of a camp fire. right spices rubbed in and it was great. we cook mainly fresh food, hardly ever cook at home and re-heat in the woods. if we do, it is usually a large pot of chili, or bean soup we re-heat over the fire.

Be creative and do something different. Trader Joe's and Costco have frozen pot stickers, those work great in foil. Cheesey scalloped potatoes, baked ribs,
any king of sausages.

Diced potato, olive oil and some seasonings of your choice placed in serving sized envelopes made out of tinfoil are an awesome side dish on the campfire.

Pre made omelets in ziplock bags boiled in water, quick and easy with no cleanup

If you can carry a dutch oven, there is no better camp food. Pretty much any thing you can think of can be cooked in a dutch oven

I'm not sure if we're on the same page with the whole dutch oven thing...

Yeah, not the old cover over the girlies head deal. I mean a heavy cast iron pot that makes insanely tasty food.
