A friend of mine has been brewing for over 20 years; and I have now caught "the bug." I am just finishing putting together my RIMS system, and will be brewing my first batch this weekend.

I have the feeling that this is the beginning of an obsession...

And the end of Mediocre Beer!!!
Welcome to the club!!

Post some pics of your system!! I have been brewing for 20+ years myself, all grain for at least 15 and I still haven't designed my dream system. Always waiting for the next best thing, I guess.....

You can make whatever quantities you want. The same equipment is used for 2.5 gallons and 5 gallons. More/bigger equipment is needed for 10, 15, 20 gallons at a time.

I use the Mr Beer fermenter for smaller batches when Im trying something new. I wouldn't really recommend their kits since you really don't end up doing much work at all or have much choice on the beer flavors you can make, but the fermenter works well to make about 2gal at a time. You can also stick an airlock in a gallon glass jug if you want to make really small batches

i've got a mr beer fermenter and i'm about to make my own recipe withthe fermenter. Going for something like dfh 60min. ithink its gonna work out fine. Just because you use mr beer equipment dont mean you have to order their kits. The main thing is to be creative!!!

I've got 2-1 gallon jugs fermenting now of hard cider. Great for experimenting but sucks when it turns out good and you have 4+ weeks to wait for the next batch to finish
