Fresno Food/Wine/Brew

Fresno isn't exactly known for its vibrant culinary and craft beer scene, but there are places to be found if you look around a bit. A few of my favorites:

Sequoia Brewing company - Sequoia Brewing - Fresno's #1 MicroBrewery
Used to be the Butterfield brewery in the tower district. IMO they've steadily improved over the past several years and now have some pretty good beer to choose from. Their Buzzsaw IIPA is definitely worth a taste.


The Queen's Inn Up in Oakhurst has a great wine and beer garden with a decent selection. The owners also run the Idle Hour Winery.

I've heard of Sequoia Brewing (all the way up here in alberta) they have been featured in BREW YOUR OWN once or twice.

Still hav'nt made it over to Sequoia yet... need to do that. BJ's @ Fashion Fair is purdy good. Love a good IPA!

BC's Pizza out on Shaw near Sierra Vista mall has some good food and probably the best craft beer selection in Fresno.

Some of the best Indian food, and probably some of the best restaurant service anywhere, can be found at North India Bar & Grill. They have a relatively small tap selection - about 8 or 10, but allmost all are excellent craft brews like Lagunitas, Firestone Walker, etc. Beer prices are great too! They are very accomodating with special needs for food or accomodation requests - just ask. They are also very kid friendly.

I would also reccomend Sequoia Brewery. Good food and good beer.
