Living anywhere in North Dakota is probably considered rural. I moved here 40+ years ago and would never live anywhere else.

I've lived in both, but like having the extra space associated with rural living. Neighbours are nosier, but further away

I prefer living in a rural area because you have a lot more freedom to do what you want. I wouldn't mind living in the city but when I retire, I plan to find a place out in the country.

I don't like to be too far out as it is a long trip to the emergency room or doctor when sick. I'm about 15 minutes from the hospital and my doctor yet drive through farm fields part of the way to get there.

I'm pretty lucky. I live in the "Metro Planing" area. I'm literraly 15 minutes from the legal city limits, but yet they have extend water out to us. Pretty nice! LIve on two acres, with city water, and not hustle and bustle of city/metro life.
