Something You Miss About Your City....

Could be something your city once had but doesn't anymore, or you moved and your current city doesn't offer it.

I'll start.

In Riverside, CA we used to have acres upon acres of orange groves. They have torn down most of them for housing. It sounds weird, but I really do miss smelling all the blossoms and driving through the streets that were lined with them. It sort of reminded me of the open country.

From the town I grew up in I miss the access to the river. They were able to fully develop all the banks and sell to private individuals thus blocking off access to the public except for just a few spots which get way too crowded.

I lived in the Phoenix area from 92'-05' I just got back into wheeling in 04' and really miss the open desert and mountains. I'm pissed that I wasted so many years living in 4x4 paradise without taking full advantage of it..

About he only thing I will miss about living in Indy was the feeling I got while driving the loaded moving truck out of town.. And the somewhat reasonable firearm ownership laws..

Well, I lived in Kansas half a lifetime ago. Now I'm in the Marine Corps, and I live on Oahu for right now.

I miss nice people, but more than that, I miss smart people.

Oh and being able to drive for hours and not see any buildings.

I miss the bustling industry of Eastman Kodak, Xerox, Bausch and Lomb and countless other companies that were once huge in my city and are now reduced significantly, or nearly or completely gone. I miss being able to walk city streets at night in the summer without worry -- our crime rate is too high for that anymore. I miss my friends who were forced to move out of state in order to provide for their families because New York is so business-unfriendly.

I miss common sense. "Common" sense is a rarity these days.
