Hey, thanks for posting that. I had a deal in the works to buy a 5th wheel trailer and set it on the banks of the Columbia Gorge near Stevenson. I was a bit concerned about insulation and electric bills but the deal killer was the land owner was a meth addict.

It's a lot chillier in Spokane than in the Willamette Valley but the Gorge is a whole nother animal and my bills would have been similar to your own.

Or electric bill is about $500-550 over summer and about $900 over winter. That's for a 2100 sq ft house and a small dairy farm. Goes up so much in winter because of the water tank heaters we have to run and because we use the silo (10hp motor), feed mixer (10hp motor), conveyors (3 2hp motors) and barn cleaner (5hp motor) a lot more than in summer. I don't remember the $ per kw/hr, but I could check with my dad as he pays the electric bill for the farm.

Please post your city/state, square footage of house and what your utility bill was last month.

It would be even more helpful if you could put how much your electricity was and how much your water was.

Electric Bill averages $55-75, water bill is from $20-24. I am on a septic tank so no sewage bill. My home is around 1100 square feet; I live in a cold area and it doesn't have hardly any insulation. In the winter I pay $2.50-3.60 a gallon for propane.

Like most folks, our bill varies with the season. Our rate is 8.87 cents per kwh in south central Pa. The house is about 1800sf. We have our own well so I can't help you with water rates.

Good Luck with your project.
