That's one thing I don't worry about. Living in Texas has it's advantages. People wait all year for the cold then it gets here and they turn on the heater, doesn't make any sense to me.

Have you been in the triple digit heat for over 90 days like Okla, has?

Sorry I've been MIA for a while, just got but into the swing of things.

Thank you all so much for the help, I got great ideas for the project and good marks overall. Funny how all of these compare to my apartment, our bill is normally between $60-$120, depending on the season, but we get to split it between 4 people (me and my two other roommates).

House in Tucson, AZ 3176 square feet: electric was $236.82; gas was $31.06 and don't remember on the water. House is 18 years old was custom and the windows and sliding doors replaced in 2009 & 2010 to energy star efficient windows and doors. We were gone for a week of this time frame. Normal setting for A/C is 77 degrees it was 85 or so the week we were gone.

Please post your city/state, square footage of house and what your utility bill was last month.

It would be even more helpful if you could put how much your electricity was and how much your water was.

Your drought is expected to last through 2012 so I'd expect little cooling without cloudy & rainy skies. Time to build yourself the highest tech swamp cooler ever.............

If I could I would.

I've been looking at ways to supplement energy costs, nothing I would do as a renter though.

My AC runs non stop, I know that's the biggest issue, but it's still pretty hot down here.
