At the moment we have no categories for the the Community. Choose 'Uncategorized'.
Fill out your group name. We suggest making your group name as descriptive as possible. We suggest doing the same with the description.
When creating a social group on CityProfile.com you will be given an option to select which type of group you want. Here they are defined.
Public: Any one can join your group. Conversations are public.
Moderated: The Administrator (the person who started the group) controls membership in the group. If someone wishes to join, they must send a request and the Administrator must approve it. Conversations are still public.
Invite only: Only the Administrator can send out invitations, users can not send request. Conversations are public.
After selecting the type of group, you will need to upload a group icon. If you have a seal or graphic here is where you add it. Upload from either the internet or your computer. Be sure to save changes.
If your group is moderated, people will have to request to join your group.
Click on the group you wish to join. At the bottom there is a button called 'Join Group'. Clicking that will take you to the next page which will ask "Are you sure you want to join the group called _____". Clicking 'Yes' will automatically dispatch a private message to the administrator of the group.
To allow people to join your moderated or invite only group, open your 'Your notification Drop Down Menu' and select 'Social Group Join Request'.
As the Administrator of your group, click on the Name of your group.
At the bottom is a button called 'Pending & Invited Members' click that.
You will be taken to a screen where you can select which members you wish to have join your group, by checking the box next to their user name, and selecting 'Accept'. Be sure to save the changes.
