I thought each state made their own money in the south, but judging from your hint, not quite sure, Greenville, South Carolina??

There were several different companies that printed it out of Richmond, VA and Columbia, SC. The bills were almost all hand cut out with scissors and individually hand signed. Counterfitting was a huge problem and the North also printed a ton to cause inflation and upset the Southern economy during the war.

I believe that it was somewhere in south Carolina maybe charleston
