What's the name? (Area and state)

What is the name of the area that is part of the continental US (lower forty-eight) that is surrounded on 3 sides by water but not physically attached to any state? Name the area and what state it belongs to.

I'll add this also. It is not an island. It is attached to the N. American continent. Anyone?

Good guess but nope! Part of the question was that it is not attached to any state.

In the 70''s or 80's there was an ongoing dispute among the locals, US and Canadian. Some of the US citizens put out signs saying "Canadians Go Home". To this day Point Bob is serviced by Canadian phone and gets supported by a Canadian Volunteer Fire Dept. Don't know anything about feet?
