Bass fishing?

Where is a good place close by to go bass fishing? By VA beach.

My favorite bass (Stripers) can be had at times right off the beach! If not need to get offshore a bit (I prefer by kayak). Try the lynnhaven inlet and around the HRBT and the BBT. For fresh water the only decent bass fishing I know about is around blackwater although there is a lake up north owned by Va Beach you can google (it is NorthHampton BLVD) that supposedly holds some decent bass AND walleye.

Local golf courses have the best fishing around, caught 5-7 citations in williamsburg golf course ponds. VA DGIF stocks all ponds with many different species...

I'm from Maine and we can fish in salt water with no license, is it the same here?
