I too am a transplant (Originally from AZ) and I received info about this place from HomebrewTalk.
Sadly, I no longer brew beer as I no longer drink alcohol. (Although I do miss a good IPA on occasion)

Lots of beer brewers... I just posted a new thread in one of the other forums about brewing beer. I am also here from HBT but belong to a local brew club (B.A.R.F of VA Beach). Seems like a good group of folks that are interested in teaching/learning more about brewing quality beer. I just went to my first meeting a couple weeks (teach a friend to brew day) that was hosted my a new craft brewery (Beach Brewing Co of VA Beach). It was a ton of fun, only $20 to join and one of the club officers even smoked some chicken for everyone to enjoy. It's a great way to learn more or teach.
