Getting back to it.

I stopped working out for a month and now I'm fat and lethargic again.

How many of you take breaks that end up causing consequences?

Just want to make sure I'm not alone.

Oh you ain't alone on that one. Miss one walk in the morn and tonage starts piling back on instantly. Miss a day of crunches and that spare tire starts to appear too.

I was walking 3 miles every morning. Hurt my back and never went back to it. Put all the weight back on.

One of the best things I have done for myself is to get back on a bicycle and ride. I rode constantly in the 70's, 80's and early 90's and got away from it. I can't run/jog because or spinal arthritis so a low impact exercise fits the bill for me. I ride every day commuting in Houston and in the past 7 months have dropped about 35-40 pounds and am down to about 195 now. Target weight is 185. The more you sit around and do nothing the worse you feel, physically, psychologically and emotionally.

Day two and my arms and core are sore. This is why I don't stop, stopping makes it painful again.

Stick with it my friend. It's a process, not an event. It doesn't happen all at once. At 58, going on 59 I'm in better shape now than when I was 40 because I exercise. went to the MD yesterday and I'm now 192lbs. Down fron 235. Target weight is 185 so I'm closer to my target than I am my old weight. It will happen if you make it happen.

I was at 185 once and it was to skinny for my frame. I looked emaciated.
